After watching summer storms boom around the skies for two days in the lead-up, it's safe to say I woke up a little nervous on our wedding day! Luckily, though, the sun was shining and there was plenty of coffee. An ideal combo for any wedding morning, I think.
Things started out pretty relaxed. My bridesmaids, family and I had breakfast out on the balcony of the house we had rented for the weekend. The energy rapidly ascended from there as one of my best friends living in New York arrived to get ready with us. CUE THE HIGH-PITCHED SQUEALS. It was so special to have her there. We switched between vibes on the speakers; one sister wanted Beyonce, the other? ABBA. I just wanted something fun. One of my favourite parts of the day was all the messages we were sent from friends on their way, they were all so excited and it was the most buoyant feeling knowing all our favourite people were en route from all around the country and world!
We made sure we left plenty of time throughout the morning for lounging around and generally hanging out together. I didn't want to spend three hours in the hair and make-up chair, I just wanted to be silly with my sisters and friends, and that's exactly what we did! We felt so special all dressed in Pomme while we joked around and snacked on cheese and Champagne. It was perfect. Almost as perfect as marrying the man of my dreams in a white tux!
