Getting ready was so much fun with my bridesmaids and family. I had rented a big house and had my parents, brother, his girlfriend, my uncle and aunty and many cousins all staying together which was loads of fun.

We spent the day getting ready to a playlist I’d made with all my favourite songs - everything from Shania Twain to the Spice Girls to the Harry Potter theme song. My bridesmaids ensured I was very well fed - we had Posh Porridge for breakfast and plenty of cheese platters throughout the day. There were many, many laughs (and tears - happy ones of course!).

One of the most special moments was surprising mum and dad with a gift each. Another was when the flower girls arrived to be with us after their nap - they were the daughters of two of my bridesmaids so it was super special to have their wee girls as a part of my day. They were both on their absolute best behaviour walking up the aisle!

It was definitely the best day of my life. We feel so grateful we were able to have the wedding as a few days later New Zealand put a limit on weddings over 100 people and the week after that we were in lockdown!
